Common media interview mistakes – and how to avoid them (CharityComms blog)

I wrote a guest post for CharityComms recently, aimed at helping charity comms officers and spokespeople with media interviews.

I’d been thinking of writing this piece for a while. Having done media training for quite a number of charities now, I wanted to pull together common issues and present some solutions. The piece draws on my experiences of following the news, being a former journalist and charity spokesperson, and as a media trainer.

Thanks to CharityComms for this opportunity. If you haven’t joined them yet (I’m a member as they let freelancers in too!), do check out the support and guides they offer for 3rd sector comms people. They’re brilliant.

I hope you find the guide useful. What do you think? Let me know if you have any comments or questions – either in the comments below or by dropping me an email.
