Academi Heddwch is Wales’ first ‘peace institute’. It aims to extend Wales’ long-standing tradition of peace-making and peace-promotion, by developing and coordinating an independent community of researchers in related fields.
Communications audit and strategy development
The Academi was looking for help to communicate effectively, as the organisation develops and grows.
I carried out a communications audit to assess the situation. This included looking at the Academi’s website, social media and media coverage. After that, I worked with the team to run a communications workshop, which enabled me to write a draft communications strategy for them.
This work was carried out in spring/summer 2023.
Development of ‘public narrative’
One of the priorities set out in the strategy was developing new messaging to describe the Academi and its work. In winter 2023/24 I set about working with the organisation to create a ‘public narrative’ – a standard text for use across all AHC’s communications.
This involved reviewing existing text, planning and facilitating a workshop, drafting a narrative and then refining the text with feedback from participants. The resulting text includes vision and role of Academi Heddwch and an explanation of peace and its relevance to Wales.
